See Ya In Siwa!

The Siwa Oasis is located on the western edge of the Egyptian desert near the border of Libya. It’s the perfect pristine desert oasis where the natural springs and lakes are surrounded with acres and acres of palm trees and olive groves. In fact, the two main products from this region are its dates and its olive oil. Siwa is also home to dozens of natural salt lakes and even some sulphur-infused burbling hot pots! Whether you are a solo traveler or a small group you are welcome to book this tour though it’s not exactly recommended for kids simply because of the long 11-hour drive from Cairo. Now, if we haven't completely dissuaded you, and you actually do love the open roads and the types of serious adventures to be found thereon, then read on! While in Siwa you’ll get to explore the laborynth ruins of the Shali Fortress, see the Temple of Amun, float/swim in the salt lakes, as well as in Cleopatra’s Spring! You’ll also have a day to go on a “desert Jeep safari" with the option to camp overnight. It is a night of true primitive camping in tents with just the soft earth beneath you and a canopy of stars above! FYI, there’s no electricity or flushing toilets (in case the description wasn’t clear enough.)

Your lodging accommodations throughout your time in Siwa are clean and comfortable but this is not the 5-Star glitz and glam hotels of the big cities; however, the rewards of experiencing Siwa are off the charts! On your arrival day in Cairo you’ll get checked into your hotel. Day 1 of your tour will be a full day to enjoy the Giza Pyramids and one of Egypt’s famous museums. Days 2, 3, and 4 will be spent in Siwa. On the morning of Day 5 you’ll travel back to a 5-Star hotel in Cairo and sleep overnight before leaving Egypt the next day.
